§ 15-45 H AWAI‘I C OUNTY C ODE <br />Section 15-45. Assigned camping spaces. <br />The department may apportion and delineate the space within the camping area for <br />the exclusive use of any person granted a permit to utilize the area; but the area shall <br />not be less than forty square feet nor more than eighty square feet per person. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 4, sec 15-45.)15-45 <br />Section 15-46. Camping permit; minors. <br />All responsible persons eighteen years of age or older shall be allowed to secure a <br />permit on their own to camp in any of the campsites. All minors below the age of <br />eighteen shall be allowed to camp in the camping area provided that they will be under <br />the direct supervision of a responsible adult for every ten minors. All minors from the <br />same family accompanied by at least one of their parents shall be allowed to camp, <br />regardless of the ratio of supervision between parent and children. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 4, sec 15-46.)15-46 <br />Section 15-47. Cancellation of permits. <br />Permits shall be automatically cancelled if they are not picked up or if the <br />department is not notified of final verification of usage by the requesting party within <br />forty-eight hours of actual usage. The department also reserves the right to terminate <br />camping privileges, aside from natural causes, for the following reasons: <br />(1) Tampering with or injuring signs, posters, markers, plants and other <br />ornamental artifacts in the area; <br />(2) Abuse of and physical damage to any building or other facility in the area; <br />(3) Unnecessary and excessive littering of the area; <br />(4) Common nuisance and disorderly behavior; <br />(5) Being uncontrollably under the influence of liquor; and <br />(6) For the violation of any other provision covered in this chapter. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 4, sec 15-47.)15-47 <br />Section 15-48. Display of permit. <br />The holder of a camping permit shall, upon request, show the permit to any law <br />enforcement officer, park caretaker or any personnel of the department. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 4, sec 15-48.)15-48 <br />Article 5. Picnics. <br />Section 15-49. Director to establish locations and time limit. <br />In recreational areas picnicking is permitted except in those locations designated by <br />the director by the posting of appropriate signs. The director may also establish <br />reasonable limitations on the length of time any person may use any picnicking facility <br />by the posting of appropriate signs when such limitations are necessary for the <br />accommodation of the visiting public. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 5, sec 15-49.)15-49 <br />15-14 <br /> <br />
