Hawaii Police Commission <br />Meeting Agenda <br />April 16, 2021 <br />Page 2 <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Correspondence 21-04: Susan Olsen expressed concerns about her request for <br />records from the Police Department and how the Police Department and State <br />agencies handled her son's mental health issues. <br />CHAIR'S REPORT ON MATTERS OF INTEREST TO THE COMMISSION <br />(CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC) <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />The commission will meet in executive session to consider charges against officers or <br />employees of the police department where matters affecting privacy will be involved, to <br />consider sensitive matters relating to public safety, and may consult with Corporation <br />Counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, <br />immunities, and liabilities pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a) (2) (4) (6) and the Hawaii County <br />Charter Section 13-20 (b). <br />CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF COMPLAINTS (Briefly summarized.) <br />• Complaint HPC 21-13: Complainant was arrested for disorderly conduct. He <br />complained of his treatment during his arrest. <br />• Complaint HPC 21-14: Complainant was arrested for disorderly conduct. He <br />complained of his treatment during his arrest. <br />• Complaint HPC 21-15: Complainant was arrested for disorderly conduct. He <br />complained of his treatment during his arrest. <br />• Complaint HPC 21-16: Complainant was arrested for disorderly conduct. He <br />complained of his treatment during his arrest. <br />• Complaint HPC 21-18: Complainant alleged that during a traffic stop, an officer ranted <br />and raved at the top of his lungs, and was very angry at her. <br />• Complaint HPC 21-19: Complainant alleged that an officer harassed him and a friend <br />in the parking lot of a local bar. <br />• Review of complaint in the non-acceptance category. <br />STATUS REPORT OF REFERRED AND EXTERNAL COMPLAINTS <br />
