ACCEPTABLE QUESTIONS TO ASK, IF THE <br />DISABILITY IS NOT OBVIOUS AND/OR THE REASON <br />THE ANIMAL IS NEEDED IS NOT CLEAR: <br />Is the animal required because of a disability? <br />What work or task has teh animal been trained to perform? <br />SERVICE ANIMAL is cared for by the owner. <br />SERVICE ANIMAL must behave in an acceptable way; cannot be <br />disruptive; and must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of <br />others. <br />A BUSINESS OR EMPLOYER can ask you to remove the SERVICE <br />ANIMAL if it is not under control or if an individual refuse to answer the <br />two questions above if their disability is not obvious. <br />SERVICE ANIMAL must be under the control of the owner, using a <br />harness, leash, tether or voice control. <br />SERVICE ANIMAL must be potty trained. Others are not responsible for <br />the care or cleanup of the animal. <br />An employer may request documentation to verify the disability (if not <br />obvious) and what essential functions the SERVICE ANIMAL is trained <br />to help the employee perform. <br />A disabled individual with a SERVICE ANIMAL cannot be denied <br />access to public and private transportation and forced to sit in a particular <br />spot or charged additional fees. <br />
