Merit Appeals Board <br />Call to Order (Item 1) <br />April 26, 2021 <br />CHR. CABANAS: Good morning, everyone. This is Gabriella Cabanas, Chair, of the Merit <br />Appeals Board. The regular meeting of the County of Hawaii Merit Appeals Board is called to <br />order at 11:38 a.m. on April 26, 2021. <br />We have a quorum of four members—we have Mr. Mel Ventura sitting in via Zoom. Good <br />morning, Mel. <br />MR. VENTURA: Good morning. <br />CHR. CABANAS: And we also have fellow Board members, Ms. Gay Mathews. <br />MS. MATHEWS: Good morning. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Good morning, Ms. Mathews. And we also have Mr. Charlie Kunz. <br />MR. KUNZ: Good morning. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Good morning, Mr. Kunz. Also, three of us are in the councilroom at the <br />Hawaii County Building. We are also—we also have Director William Brilhante with us. <br />Good morning, Bill. <br />MR. BRILHANTE: Good morning, Gabe. <br />CHR. CABANAS: And we also have our Deputy Corporation Counsel, J Yoshimoto, with us. <br />MR. YOSHIMOTO: Good morning, everyone. <br />CHR. CABANAS: Good morning. And we have our Secretary -Reporter, Glynis Yamada, with <br />us. Good morning, Glynis. <br />MS. YAMADA: Good morning. <br />CHR. CABANAS: And also from the Clerk's Office manning the equipment is Mr. Relley <br />Araceley, who is the Legislative Information and Reference Technician; and Ms. Jeanette Aiello, <br />the Council Administrative Services Supervisor. We are all in the councilroom at the Hawaii <br />County Building. <br />We have a quorum of four members, so we can proceed with our meeting. Just a kindly <br />reminder, when we are speaking during the meeting so please turn on your mic. so that the <br />meeting minutes can be recorded. <br />Also, when we do vote, I will be using a roll call vote.
