Commissioner Olson suggested requesting to the appropriate Council committee chair to place
it on a committee agenda so it can be discussed in public.
ii.
Commissioner Fulton said that he hasn’t made an inquiry recently, and based on the discussion
in the previous meeting, she came away from that with the understanding if she asked that
data will be shared with her. She asked Director Mansour about whether the request should be
made to him or to the head of wastewater operations.
Director Mansour replied that he wantedto make sure the interpretation of that data is
correct. If she has a question, please call, he said, and don’t share any interpretation that may
mislead the public or staff. That would open a can of worms.

Commissioner Fulton said the subject is the accessibility of the data, and what she does with
that data is at her discretion. She added she appreciates the Director’s opinion.

iii. Format and content of the Director’s Informational Report.
Chair Adams asked for comment on the report as constituted.

Commissioner Cardwell said the format and content are easy to read. It seems functional.

Chair Adams suggested the report include a segment on the implementation of the Integrated
Solid Waste Management Plan, though she could communicate with the Director on that. It’s
an open issue, if anyone has got some suggestions and is not getting the information being
requested, or is tired of reading certain items, please let her know.

6. We do have a new budget starting July
1 and we do have funds in our education budget to do this if it is passed by the County as
drafted. He said the Solid Waste Advisory Committee are very excited about doing this project.
The Council did pass the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan. They did approve that and
this is one of the high priorities, one of the top six items. The goal is to make sure whatever we
do in his County that we are not wasting resources but saving resources. The plan will give us a
guide on doing that. We are excited about doing that project but funding was cut so we did not
have an opportunity to do it right now.

Commissioner Cardwell commented that goes back to what she was sharing at the last meeting
about the importance of collecting information and data. She was hoping that budget gets
11
