Pursuant to Section 3-17 (e) of <br /> the Hawaii County Charter, the commission shall hold at least one public hearing in each of the nine <br /> council districts. <br /> October 11, 2021 (Monday) 6:00 p.m. at the Council Chamber, Hilo, 25 Aupum <br /> Street,Room 1401, 96720 (Council District 2) <br /> October 14, 2021 (Thursday) 6:00 p.m. at the Honoka`a Sports Complex and Skate <br /> Park(Gymnasium), Honoka`a,45-541 Lehua Street, 96727 <br /> Note:All current federal, state and local guidelines, rules andproclamations to ensure public safety in <br /> addressing the COVID-19pandemic will be adhered to at thepublic hearing sites. This may include limiting <br /> the amount of individuals accessing the indoor location. If the site has reached limited capacity,you may be <br /> asked to remain outdoors until we are able to allow access at the appropriate time. <br /> Submitting Oral Testimony: All persons seeking to express their views on the above matter may do so <br /> orally at the hearings and must register with the Commission by emailing <br /> redistrictingcommissionghawaiicoun ov or calling 808-961-8020. <br /> The registration period will end at 4:30 p.m. on the business day before the date of the public hearing. <br /> Oral testimony at the hearing will be limited for a length of time determined at the discretion of the <br /> Chairperson,but not less than three (3)minutes. <br /> Written Testimony: <br /> The Commission encourages the public to submit thoughts,comments, and input via written testimony. To <br /> ensure timely delivery to Commission Members prior to the hearing,written testimony must be submitted <br /> before 12 noon, on the business day prior to the hearing by: (1)email to <br /> redistrictingcommissionghawaiicoun ov,2)facsimile to (808)961-8673, or(3)mail to Redistricting <br /> Commission, Office of the County Clerk,25 Aupum Street, Suite 1402, Hilo,Hawaii 96720. All written <br /> testimony,regardless of time of receipt,will be made public and part of the permanent record. <br /> Videoconferencing <br /> The Commission intends to and will attempt to make videoconferencing available for these hearings via the <br /> Zoom platform.
