IS events, and includes video conferencing its citizen participation activities to enhance coordination <br />between public and private housing and social service agencies. <br />(W <br />Identify actions taken to overcome the effects of any impediments identified in the <br />jurisdictions analysis of impediments to fair housing choice. 91.520(a) <br />The Analysis of Impediments (AI) was completed in 2019. This identified a general lack of awareness of <br />fair housing rights on the part of people with disabilities, members of the general public, landlords and <br />property managers. The 0HCID and partner agencies across the state have explored new ways to <br />provide virtual training and education to the community, which was often limited to virtual interactions. <br />The annual Fair Housing Seminar was conducted on a virtual platform and made accessible to state-wide <br />attendance. This allowed the presenting agencies to expand the seminar beyond a one -day <br />presentation. The seminar hosted various specialized panels who conducted 5 training sessions—one for <br />each week of Fair Housing month (April). The audience consisted of an average of 731 people per <br />session, of which 50% were first-time attendees, a substantial increase from previous years. A total of <br />149 attendees registered from the Big Island. The County's Fair Housing webpage posted the recorded <br />trainings. There were 2,454 visits to the webpage. The virtual traffic increased as well as the phone and <br />email inquiries. The Fair Housing coordinator provided assistance in response to 94 inquiries via phone <br />or email. <br />The AI aiso revealed that the staff for many housing service providers were unaware of the resources <br />available to the public. As a response, the County hosted 2 virtual trainings focused on Fair Housing <br />Issues for Homeless Service Providers. A Fair Housing resource poster is also available on the website or <br />for direct distribution to local housing agencies or public facilities within the County. <br />The OHCD completed 7 total training sessions in FY 2020, which included 237 attendees. The OHCD <br />assisted in facilitation of the Fair Housing Coordinator's meetings, hosting 2 meetings and attending 3 <br />others. The Fair Housing coordinator attended 4 specialized training sessions, as a means to keep <br />informed of the latest updates available to assist the community. <br />OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 09/30/2021) <br />CAPER <br />
