Discussion of Draft Plan <br /> On November 29, 2021, as a reconvening of its November 23, 2021 —8t' session, <br /> the Commission approved a draft redistricting plan by vote. Pursuant to Hawaii <br /> County Charter Section 3-17(e), public hearings on the draft plan are scheduled <br /> for December 14 and December 16, 2021. Any adjustments to the draft plan <br /> would not be made by the Commission until after the public hearings. <br /> Commissioners may discuss potential considerations that have been identified and <br /> any public comments received since the draft plan was selected. <br /> 5. Discussion of report transmitting Final Plan <br /> Pursuant to Hawaii County Code Article Chapter 36 Section 36-10, the <br /> Commission "shall submit a written report to the county clerk transmitting the <br /> final plan chosen by the commission." Commissioners may conduct a preliminary <br /> discussion on the content and responsibilities for the report and develop an <br /> outline. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Update on outreach for public hearings <br /> The Commission may receive an update on outreach efforts for its public hearings <br /> from support staff, including map dissemination and address any questions. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Public hearings on the draft plan are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on December 14 and December 16, <br /> 2021. <br /> In-person testimony on both dates will be welcomed at: <br /> Hilo County Building—Council Chamber <br /> 25 Aupuni Street#1401 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> -and- <br /> West Hawaii Civic Center Council Chamber <br /> 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway Building A <br /> Kailua-Kona, 96740 <br /> Virtual testimony options are available on both dates via the Zoom platform and phone dial-in. <br /> Please email redistrictingcommission@hawaiicouniy.gov or call 808-961-8020 for virtual <br /> access. <br /> Further details on the public hearing are available on the posted public notice. <br /> The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for December 17, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. <br /> The draft council redistricting plan can be viewed at h11ps://arcg.is/1Cfl`el0 <br />
