He also reported that $163 was deducted for printing costs of the Services <br />Directory since July 2021. The balance of our Committee budget is $9,837 as of <br />November 2021. Shana asked what happens to unspent HCSW funds after the fiscal <br />year. Andrew replied that any unspent funds are returned to the County each fiscal <br />year end. He recommends the submission of any requests for funds be done right <br />away for approval and dispersal before the next fiscal year ends in June 2022. All <br />requests for FY21-22 should be submitted by the latest date of April 2022 in order to <br />be timely. <br />MOTION: Mele motioned to approve the year-to-date Treasurer's Report of October <br />2021; Hannah seconded; the motion passed. <br />VI. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />No statements from the public this month. <br />Mihaela introduced Shanee "Kai" Gacayan as an applicant to the HCSW. <br />Kai shared about her life, her work, and her hopes to be a part of the Committee. <br />VII. CORRESPONDENCE <br />No new correspondence. <br />Vill. REPORTS <br />A. HSCSW liaison report <br />Liaison Cyd Hoffeld was not present to provide a report. <br />B. Family Violence Interagency Committee (FVIC) <br />Kahea and Shana attended the meeting on November 1, 2021. They reported <br />that the Malama Makuahine initiative was shared on behalf of HCSW. The FVIC <br />was receptive and looks forward to learning more and possibly getting involved. <br />ACTION ITEM: Shana will email the FVIC members more information before the <br />next FVIC meeting in December. <br />FVIC announcements and 2022 activities were briefly shared: <br />1) November 18: Career fair for Hawai'i Island high school students <br />2) November 18: "The Great American Smokeout" Worksite Wellness Fair <br />3) Hawai'i Island United Way funding for Puna area <br />4) Zonta: "16 Days of Activism" <br />5) Shoebox Project at Kuhio Mall <br />6) January 2022: Human Trafficking Awareness Month <br />7) April 2022: Sex Assault Awareness Month, Child Abuse Awareness <br />Month, National Crime Victims' Rights Week <br />C. MMNHWG Task Force <br />Mihaela attended the November meeting of the Task Force and said that there <br />were 23 participant organizations: : 1. Office of Hawaiian Affairs 2.
