Statements from the public will be taken throughout the meeting. <br /> <br />4. PRESENTATIONS: <br /> <br />a. Peter Simmons, Land Management and Forestry consultant for the Hawai’i <br />Forest Industry Association will speak on the process of converting Conservation <br />lands into recreational and commercial forestry purposes. <br /> <br />b. Virginia Beck, Legislature Public Access Room Coordinator, will give a review of <br />the Legislative process. <br /> <br />5. OLD BUSINESS: <br /> <br />a. Update on the County GMAC letter requesting the County Planning Department <br />to pursue the development of the Kaupakuea public access into the Hilo Forest <br />Reserve. <br /> <br />b. Commissioner brain storming session on the October 19, 2022 “Out Door Day” <br />planning. <br /> <br />c. Brian Ley will provide a recap on the 2021 bird hunting season. <br /> <br /> <br />6. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> <br />a. Commissioner agenda ideas for 2022 GMAC meetings. <br /> <br />7. ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />a. Acknowledgement of the late Steve Hurt. <br /> <br />8. COMMISSIONERS REPORT BY DISTRICT: <br /> <br /> <br />9. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> <br /> <br />10. ADJOURNMENT: (8:00 pm) <br /> <br /> <br />Executive Session: The Game Management Advisory Commission anticipates it may <br />convene in one or more executive sessions regarding the above matters listed on the <br />agenda, pursuant to HRS Sections 92-4 and 92-5 (a)(4), for the purpose of consulting <br />with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Commission’s <br />powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities.
