Messina <br />Director <br />Michelle Malia Hiraishi <br />Deputy Director <br />Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area Closed for Vector Treatment <br />The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the <br />Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area (formerly Mauna Kea Recreation Area) will be <br />closed on Tuesday February 8, 2022 from 4:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for vector <br />control operations. <br />Please plan travel through this area with the knowledge that the public restrooms <br />and amenities at this park will not be available during this timeframe.
