Ma'i Movement <br />i. Approval of Project Rationale <br />Farrah -Marie shared the project rationale for the Ma'i Movement in <br />Hawai'i County to provide feminine products to an approximate <br />400 menstruating students in local high schools across Hawaii <br />Island. The products will be made available at local high schools <br />with principals deciding what offices to distribute. A total of $2,400 <br />would be used for this project. <br />MOTION: Lisa motioned to approve the Ma'i Movement project rationale; <br />Kahea seconded the motion; the motion was approved by all members <br />present. <br />C. Research Sub -Committee reports <br />a. Status of Women Report — no report <br />b. Equal Pay <br />i. Approval of Project Rationale <br />Farrah -Marie shared the project rationale for the Equal Pay <br />project. Andrew said there is enough money in the budget for it. <br />The proposal is to develop a full -page color ad and print in the <br />Hawaii Tribune Herald on Equal Pay Day, Tuesday, April 12, <br />2022. The print ad cost is $2,277 plus tax. To accompany the print <br />ads, the proposal is to also have electronic tiles created for the <br />purpose of posting on various social media platforms. <br />MOTION: Shana motioned to approve the project rationale for the Equal <br />Pay project; Elena seconded the motion; the motion was approved by all <br />members present. <br />D. Legislative & Advocacy <br />a. Human Trafficking <br />Kahea said she has been more focused on the human trafficking issue <br />rather than legislation in this sub -committee. She welcomes the <br />committee to an event on February 19 to learn more about the issue. <br />
