Roth <br />Mayor <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />Fire Commission <br />101 Pauahi Street, Suite 9 Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Phone: (808) 932-2950 Fax: (808) 932-2949 <br />Gerald Kosaki, Chair <br />Benjamin Agdeppa, Vice Chair <br />Gregory Henkel, Member <br />Corey Luke, Vice Chair <br />Shon Magsalin, Member <br />Wesley Mattos, Member <br />Gene Nakashima, Member <br />Daniel Paleka, Member <br />Carlene Wolf, Member <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND THE FIRE COMMISSION'S RULES <br />Pursuant to § 91-3, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will <br />be held by the Fire Commission of the County of Hawaii ("Commission") for the purpose of <br />considering proposed amendments to the Rules and Regulations of the Commission at the date, time, <br />and location indicated below. <br />Date: June 30, 2022 <br />Time: 9:00 a.m. <br />Place: West Hawaii Civic Center, Building A Council Chambers <br />75-5044 Ane Keohokalole Hwy., Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96720 <br />The proposed amendments include the following: <br />Amendment to Rule 5(B)(1): Changes regular meetings from the second Wednesday of each <br />month to the fourth Thursday of each month, unless otherwise specified by the Commission. <br />Amendment to Rule 8(a): Extends the time to file a complaint from (60) days to (90) days from <br />the date of the incident. <br />The purpose of the hearing is to afford all persons desiring to express their views, arguments, or submit <br />data on the above matter may do so by submitting statements in writing to the Fire Commission, two <br />days before the date of the public hearing. Anyone interested may appear in person to submit their <br />data, views, or arguments orally before the Commission at the hearing. All written comments should <br />be mailed or delivered to the Commission at 101 Pauahi St., Ste. 9, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, or e-mailed <br />to Charisse.Correa@hawaiicounty.gov, at least two days before the hearing. The Commission may <br />make a decision to adopt these amended rules during its monthly meeting immediately following the <br />public hearing. <br />A copy of the proposed amended rules can be found at www.hawaiicounty.�-,ov/departments/fire/fire- <br />commission or may be obtained at the office of the Fire Commission, located at 101 Pauahi St., Ste. 9, <br />Hilo, Hawaii, 96720, Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested persons may call <br />(808) 932-2950 for a mailed or e-mailed copy. <br />
