Family Violence Interagency Committee (FVIC) <br />ACTION ITEM: Kahea to follow up with Allen to forward minutes from last meeting. <br />C. Missing Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls (MMNHWG) Task <br />Force <br />Mahalo to everyone who participated in the Facebook MMNHWG Empty Red <br />Dress Campaign. Dresses were hung at UH Hilo, Hamakua-Kohala Health, and <br />Hawaiian Electric. Next meeting of the MMNHWG task force is June 16, 2022. <br />Vill. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Sunshine Law updates <br />Sinclair Salas-Ferguson shared that the purpose of the Sunshine Law requires <br />certain proceedings of governmental agencies to be open and available to the <br />public. He shared the main updates, effective January 1, 2022, as follows: <br />a. Committee can meet remotely permanently, but must have a place where <br />the public can attend in person. <br />b. Need to ensure that the location that is open to the public is equipped <br />with guaranteed audio/visual capabilities. <br />c. Must provide information on agenda in case of disconnection for more <br />than 30 minutes. <br />d. Quorum is met when all members are visible and audible throughout the <br />meeting. <br />e. Everyone present at meeting must announce him or herself as well as <br />announce who is in the room with them, regardless if they are present for <br />the meeting. <br />f. For executive sessions, information about the specificity of the topic and <br />reasons for the executive session must be stated on the record. <br />Participants must also state on the record that they are the only one <br />present in the room. The chair announces meeting and states who is in <br />the room. All votes must be conducted by roll call, unless will be <br />unanimous. <br />g. When practicable, the meeting must be recorded. Any questions about <br />Sunshine Law, contact Malia. <br />ACTION ITEM: Sinclair will follow up with Allen to ensure proper terminology is added to <br />the agenda and to discuss recording of meetings to ensure new updates are satisfied. <br />B. Approval to amend by-laws to address the following: <br />a. Staggered terms <br />b. Reappointments <br />c. New member appointments <br />MOTION: Motion was made by Kahea to table this portion of the agenda until the <br />next meeting, Andrew seconded. All approved, motion carried. <br />ACTION: Farrah to request that by-laws be sent to all committee members. <br />
