<br />AARP Advocacy Update – April 21, 2022 <br /> <br />Alive – Conference Committee <br />Bills General Description <br />HB2513 RELATING TO THE RENTAL HOUSING REVOLVING FUND. <br /> Deposits funds into the Rental Housing Revolving Fund to be used to provide loans <br />or grants to mixed-income rental projects or units for persons and families with <br />incomes between 60 and 100% of the median family income. Enables the Hawaii <br />Housing Finance and Development Corporation to use any unused moneys for <br />other authorized rental housing projects. <br />SB1294 RELATING TO MEDICAID-DENTAL BENEFITS <br />Appropriates funds to restore diagnostic, preventive, and restorative <br />dental benefits to adult Medicaid enrollees. <br />SB2479 RELATING TO BROADBAND INFRASTRUCTURE. <br />Requires each public housing project, dwelling unit, and state low-income housing <br />project that is built, renovated, or reconstructed after 1/1/2023, to include all <br />broadband infrastructure necessary for tenants to have access to broadband <br />service <br />SB2677 RELATING TO HOMELESSNESS. <br />Temporarily expands the state rent supplement program to specifically target <br />qualified individuals who are sixty-two years of age or older and are homeless or at <br />imminent risk of becoming homeless. Requires HPHA to submit annual reports to <br />the legislature. Appropriates funds. Repeals 6/30/2025. <br />SB2678 RELATING TO THE HAWAII STATE HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. <br />Appropriates funds to expand the Hawaii state health insurance assistance program <br />by contracting with third-party service providers and staffing consultants and <br />recruiting more volunteers <br />SB2679 RELATING TO DRIVER''S LICENSES. <br />Extends the renewal period from two years to four years for licensees who are <br />seventy-two years of age or older but younger than eighty years of age. <br />SB3289 RELATING TO HAWAII RETIREMENT SAVINGS. <br />Establishes the Hawaii retirement savings program, administered by the Hawaii <br />retirement savings board, with oversight by Dept of Labor and Industrial Relations <br /> <br />Other Bills Passed by Both Chambers – Floor Vote/Governor’s Signature <br />1.
