ALAMEDA:I have a question on your thoughts on the probability of another extension <br />after the 10 years. High probability, medium, low? <br />BAIL:Ten years is a long time away. You know, I think a lot can happen in 10 <br />years. I think to the extent that guests of the hotels continue to want to have a nearby resource <br />for helicopter tours and to the extent theres not more intensive development in that immediate <br />area which would conflict with the use of the heliport as a, you know, as a land use in that area, <br />I think it would be very likely that we would come back for another extension of time in 10 <br />years. I think about 10 years ago, we did come in and asked that the time period be eliminated <br />from the permit altogether and that was not done, which is why were here before you today. <br />But assuming the continued viability of the operation and the lack of a conflict, I think its very <br />likely we would be back for another extension of time. <br />ALAMEDA:Thank you. <br />FUJIKAWA:Ill make a motion. <br />GALDONES:Further questions? Seeing none, Commissioners, the <br />Planning Director recommends the amendment to Condition No. 4 be approved by the Planning <br />Commission. Motion is in order. Commissioner Fujikawa? <br />FUJIKAWA:Yeah, Im going to go with the Planning Directors recommendation to <br />amend the Condition No. 4, extension of life to the permit, until June 30, 2015, be approved. <br />This is the Special Permit No. 538, request to amend Condition No. 4. <br />GALDONES:Do we have a second? <br />MCCALL:Second. <br />GALDONES:Commissioner Fujikawa, that also includes the amendment thats stated by <br />Jeff on Page 5, second bullet, the 5 years also be changed to 10 years. Correct? <br />FUJIKAWA:Five to ten? <br />GALDONES:Yes. <br />FUJIKAWA:Yes. <br />GALDONES:It has been moved by Commissioner Fujikawa and seconded by <br />Commissioner McCall that WDC Properties, LLC (Special Permit No. 538) request to amend <br />Condition No. 4 (life of permit) be approved by the Planning Commission.
