Welcome to the second public hearing <br /> for the County of Hawaii Redistricting Commission. Today is Thursday, October 14''. <br /> My name is James Hustace, and I am your Vice-Chair for the Redistricting Commission. <br /> I'll just read an announcement here. Because of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Emergency <br /> and State and Federal guidance on large meetings or gatherings, and pursuant to the <br /> Mayor's Proclamations regarding COVID-19, the Redistricting Commission meetings are <br /> currently not open to the public until further notice. Members of the public may view or <br /> provide oral testimony via the Zoom platform by requesting for this information as <br /> noticed on our posted agendas. We also set up remote sites during this time in our nine <br /> districts, or nine Council Districts. And tonight, we are in the Honoka`a Gymnasium <br /> representing Council District 1. Thank you for joining us this evening. I will now call this <br /> public hearing to order. The time is 6:04 in the evening. <br /> STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br /> HUSTACE: This is a pretty open to our testimonies, and testifiers from the public <br /> tonight. And Commissioner Lui is joining us here in the gym as well. We have a couple <br /> Commissioners on the call. The Commissioners will not be conducting any business this <br /> evening. This is solely the purpose of hearing from the public regarding the process and <br /> providing input on creating new maps for Hawaii County. So at this point, we're going <br /> to begin with our testifiers to get things going. When you're called upon,please state <br /> your full name, where you reside, and if you're participating via Zoom we can see that <br /> here.
