HUSTACE: Mahalo, Commissioner. A question for Relley, are there any attendees that
would be willing to provide testimony this evening?
ARACELEY: Chair, it seems like that's everyone
EDWARDS HUNT: Can I say something now that I know that?
ARACELEY: There is someone who'd like to state one final thing it seems.
HUSTACE: That's fine. Absolutely.
EDWARDS HUNT: Tiffany Edwards Hunt. I'm really relieved to hear that we're at this
point. I wasn't really very clear when I came to this meeting tonight. So, thank you very
much. What is your name? The Ka`u Global Learning Lab?
AKAMU: Aloha! My name is `Rina. I'm the Commissioner representative for District 6.
Aloha.
EDWARDS HUNT: Okay. Thank you so much for that clarity, where it is. It is a relief to
know that we're at the early stages like this. So yeah, everything I said before, yes. And I
can't wait to see what you guys pull off. Knowing all of those details about our Puna
community. Thank you. Aloha.
HUSTACE: Aloha. (Pause.)
ARACELEY: Chair, it seems like that's all the testifiers you have for tonight.
HUSTACE: Okay. Thank you, Relley. Well, I'm grateful, as our other commissioners,
for the input and feedback from the public. We really value your time and coming to
these meetings. We look forward to having you join us at any and all of our upcoming
meetings if possible. We really value public guidance and input on this process. It is a
challenge for us, given the time constraints we have. And we really are grateful for all
that you can do for us.
ANNOUNCEMENTS / CLOSING REMARKS
HUSTACE: Before we close, I just wanted to announce one last thing here. We are
meeting on—As I mentioned, we have a full agendized meeting for the Redistricting
Commission this Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. If you'd like to request the Zoom link
or any information about our process and the commission, once again please email
redistrictingcommission@hawaiicounty.gov. We do have a YouTube page. We do try
and we are live streaming these meetings, as we are tonight. That same evening, we will
also be holding the sixth public hearing for Council District 6 at the Rodney Yano
Memorial Hall. That will begin Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m.
10
