COMMENTS FROM THE COMMITTEE VICE CHAIR – Clyde Silva, <br />Committee Vice-Chair thanked the committee for allowing him to lead the <br />meeting in the absence of the Committee Chair, Patricia Nye. <br /> <br />6. EXECUTIVE ON AGING REPORT AND UPDATES – Horace Farr <br />– Area Plan Surveys <br />Handouts: Breakdown results of the “Aging in Hawaii and Caregiver <br />Surveys” completed surveys from 5/25/2022 to 6/15/2022 and 5/25/2022 to <br />6/22/2023. <br /> <br />The committee received two handouts: (1) Needs Assessment Survey: <br />Aging in Hawaii; and (2) Needs Assessment Survey: Hawaii’s <br />Caregivers. The committee had the opportunity to complete the surveys <br />and Hawaii County Office of Aging (HCOA) sent the completed surveys <br />to Deborah Wills, Planner II at the Kona office. <br /> <br />7. STATE POLICY ADVISORY BOARD FOR ELDERLY AFFAIRS (PABEA) – <br />Shelly Ogata – Update on PABEA <br />Shelly reported they elected a new board chair for PABEA, Roberta Wong- <br />Murray from West Hawai`i; impending closure of the Wahiawa General <br />Hospital Nursing and Rehab Center on July 22, 2022, has clients scrambling <br />to find placement on O`ahu. <br /> <br /> <br />9. ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br />Horace Farr announcement that Hawaii is a vote by mail. If you have any <br />questions, contact Elections at 808-961-8277 (Hilo) or 808-323-4400 (Kona). <br />Horace advised to check your voter district card, as some districts have <br />changed due to reappointment. <br /> <br />10. SCHEDULING OF NEXT MEETING: <br />Tentative, Friday, August 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br />11. ADJOURNMENT <br />Clyde Silva move to adjourn the meeting; Lisa McNamarra motioned; <br />seconded by Laenette Longakit.
