EXECUTIVE ON AGING REPORT AND UPDATES – Horace Farr <br /> <br />1) Since our last meeting, Hawaii County Office of Aging (HCOA) has closed <br />and submitted its State Performance Report (SPR). Due to the COVID-19 <br />pandemic over the past two years, our variances between years for a couple <br />of services been over the ten percent “+” or “-“threshold. This threshold <br />applies to Consumers, Units, Dollars expended. <br /> <br />2) We are still facing challenges in attempting to fill positions. We did <br />interviews this week to fill the Data Analyst position. We will be reposting <br />the position again as we were not able to find a suitable candidate. We also <br />have another ADRC position posted and awaiting a list for that position. <br /> <br />3) Attended our first legislative briefing on December 8, 2021 called by the <br />Senate and House, Health and Human Services Committee Chairs. This <br />briefing was to have Executive on Aging (EOA) report on the funding and <br />services funded through the EOA and AAA’s (Area Agencies on Aging). <br />This involved current Federal and State funding, and the relationship to <br />funding asked from EOA and Kupuna Caucus in the upcoming legislative <br />session. <br /> <br />6. STATE POLICY ADVISORY BOARD FOR ELDERLY AFFAIRS (PABEA) <br />– Shelly Ogata (Handout), “Island Voices” by Roberta Wong Murray. <br /> <br />7. CORPORATION COUNSEL, SUNSHINE LAW TRAINING – J Yoshimoto <br /> <br />9. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Patricia Nye will not be able to attend the next meeting, <br />and Clyde Silva, Vice Chair will conduct the next few meetings. <br /> <br />10.
