STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – Clyde Silva <br />None. <br /> <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 25, 2022 <br />MEETING – Clyde Silva, Committee Vice Chair motion to approve <br />the Minutes of the last meeting. Motion to accept the minutes by <br />Judy Bell, and seconded by Lisa McNamarra. Unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />5. COMMENTS FROM THE VICE CHAIR – Clyde Silva <br />None. <br /> <br />6. EXECUTIVE ON AGING REPORT AND UPDATES – Horace Farr <br />1. Introduced staff: Meredith Catalini, Aging and Disability <br />Services Manager and Jolean Yamada, Case Management. <br />2. Area Plan – Thanked those who had a part in the focus group <br />on the Area Plan. Mentioned in the next meeting that the <br />Planners give an update on the how the focus meeting went and <br />the overall State codes and develop the objectives. <br />3. Completed the budget process. <br />4. Legislative Bills – Kupuna Care bills. <br />5. Ombudsman Programs: After many years, it looks like five (5) <br />positions may go through. Hawai’i County - Two positions: <br />One for East Hawai’i and one for West Hawai’i. <br /> <br />7. STATE POLICY ADVISORY BOARD FOR ELDERLY AFFAIRS <br />(PABEA) – Shelly Ogata <br />April 01, 2022 PABEA Meeting, Review/Update: Developed priority <br />list, expand on workforce development and affordable housing for <br />kupuna. <br /> <br />Shelly Ogata introduced Chalintorn Burian, AARP/COA member. <br />(Handout) to report on AARP Advocacy Update – April 21, 2021 - <br />Legislative bills alive in Conference Committee; especially SB3289 <br />- Relating to Hawaii Retirement Savings. Establishes the <br />Hawaii retirement savings program, administered by the Hawaii <br />retirement savings board, with oversight by Department of Labor <br />and Industrial Relations. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
