Surrounding Land Uses/Zoning: The surrounding properties are similarly zoned A-5a <br /> and are approximately five (5) acres in size. Surrounding land uses are primarily <br /> agricultural and residential, with some vacant undeveloped parcels. The nearest dwelling <br /> is located across Kamalani Street approximately 180 feet to the northwest of the subject <br /> property. <br /> 16. Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM): Zone"X", determined by FEMA to be an area of <br /> minimal flood hazard. <br /> 17. USDA Soil Survey Report: Soils in the subject property are classified Honuaulu <br /> hydrous silt loam, with 2 to 10 percent slopes. <br /> 18. Land Study Bureau's Overall Productivity Rating: "C" or"Moderate Productivity". <br /> 19. Agricultural Lands of Importance to the State of Hawaii (ALISH): "Unclassified". <br /> 20. Flora/Fauna Resources: No professional flora or faunal surveys were conducted as the <br /> proposed use will occur within the existing dwelling and should not have any impact on <br /> the surrounding flora or fauna. <br /> 21. Archaeological/Cultural Resources: According to the applicant, no formal <br /> archaeological studies have been done on the subject property. There are no known <br /> historic sites on the property as listed on the State or National Register of Historic Places. <br /> A request for review of the application was sent to the State Historic Preservation <br /> Division (SHPD) on March 4, 2022, as a part of this application process. As of the date of <br /> this writing the Planning Department has not received a response from SHPD. There are <br /> no known valued cultural, historical, or natural resources exist on the property and no <br /> evidence of traditional and customary Native Hawaiian rights being practiced on the site. <br /> 22. Public Access: There is no public access to the mountains or the shoreline that runs <br /> through the property. <br /> PUBLIC SERVICES AND FACILITIES <br /> 23. Access/Traffic/Parking: The subject property is accessed via Kamalani Street which is <br /> a shared 50-foot-wide access easement that crosses over various properties starting from <br /> Mdmalahoa Highway.
