This project will consist of interior and exterior alterations as well as an addition to the existing
building, King Kamehameha Mall, originally constructed under building permit 840878 and SMA Use Permit
110.
1) The proposed work will be on a 4,608 sq ft portion of the existing building interior which will consist of
alterations and a change of use from retail spaces to a church sanctuary/assembly area. This will
consolidate three retail spaces into one large sanctuary/assembly area with a stage and a green room.
2) The project will also include the demolition of an existing interior bar and outdoor patio space and add
new restrooms and a new cafe with kitchen. This portion of the project will add an additional 1,312
square feet to the existing building.
3) All exterior improvements will use the same materials and be the same colors as the existing building.
4) New landscaping will be added along Kuakini Hwy in front of the building.
5) A new sign for the church is anticipated in the future but no decision about the design has been made
yet.
Thank You,
Peter J. Piper
