VITOUSEK: Okay. MELENDEZ: —I'm trying to learn how to voice my opinion as I'm a resident in Keauhou. So, um' your Bill 194 is this the time where I can testify because you mentioned testifying about anything. So, can I testify against that right now or for that? VITOUSEK: Sure. MELENDEZ: Okay. VITOUSEK: So, the options are you can either testify about it now or you can wait until that agenda item is called and then you can testify at that time. MELENDEZ: Okay. VITOUSEK: So, what would you prefer? MELENDEZ: Well, I guess, um' how long is the meeting because I would like, I just have to go to work. So— VITOUSEK: Cool, yeah. Please feel free to testify now. That's no problem. MELENDEZ: Okay, thank you. So,— VITOUSEK: If you don't mind, what is your name and the town you live in? MELENDEZ: Yeah, I'm Rebecca Melendez, I live in Kailua-Kona, Keauhou area— VITOUSEK: Okay. MELENDEZ: —resident of Keauhou. VITOUSEK: And would you please raise your right hand so I can swear you in. Do you swear or affirm to tell the truth on the manner before the Planning Commission? MELENDEZ: Yes, I do. VITOUSEK: Okay, please proceed with your testimony. MELENDEZ: Okay, thank you. So, with regards to the Bill 194 and I totally agree that no Planning Director should not have the full say without the County Council being addressed with regards to the zoning being able to extend, right. I just feel like right now what I'm seeing as a resident, as I've been here since 1997. Um' you know especially after Covid there's just so much growth happening and unfortunately people have been caught taking handouts you know what I mean. Like I'm not blaming anybody for this but I'm saying is we need to have a checks and balances so that it's not you know a possibility of a director or somebody being able to extend 2 EXHIBIT A
