It was moved by Commissioner Kern and seconded by Commissioner Ishibashi to send a <br />favorable recommendation to the County Council with conditions. A roll call vote was taken and <br />motion carried with four ayes (Kern, Ishibashi, Au and Woodward) and two absent and excused <br />(Domingo and Ono). <br />The Commission took the following item up at 9:17 a.m. with one person from the public in <br />attendance: <br />INITIATOR: COUNTY COUNCIL <br />Amendment to Chapter 25 (Zoning), Article 4, of the Hawai‘i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, <br />as amended), by adding a new division relating to Tsunami Sirens. <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br />MINUTES – At9:27 a.m., the Commission took up the following minutes: <br />November 10, 2010 – It was moved by Commissioner Kern and seconded by Commissioner Au <br />that the minutes be approved. Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all members <br />in attendance. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS – The following were discussed under administrative matters: <br />Hu Honua Contested Case (SMA 221) –Mr. Arai gave a status update of the on-going contested <br />rd <br />case. He noted there was a deadline of Dec. 3 to submit proposed findings but one party has <br />not yet done so. He said the Hearings Officerwill then submit a report to the Planning <br />Commission but he did not foresee scheduling a meeting on the matter any earlier than February <br />of 2011. <br />Election of Officers for 2011 – The Commission took up the following at this time, 9:28 a.m. <br />Chairman – Chairman Woodward, wishing to step down from his position, nominated <br />Commissioner Kern, and there were no other nominations. It was moved by Commissioner Kern <br />and seconded by Commissioner Au that the nominations be closed and motion was unanimously <br />carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance. <br />Vice-Chairman – Chairman Woodward nominated Commissioner Ishibashi, and there were no <br />other nominations. It was moved by Commissioner Kern and seconded by Commissioner Au <br />that the nominations be closed and motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all <br />Commissioners in attendance. <br />Appreciation – Commission Ishibashi expressed appreciation to Chairman Woodward on serving <br />as the Chairman for the past year. Chairman Woodward stated it was his pleasure to serve. <br />2 <br /> <br />
