AMEND ZONING CODEThe Commission took this item up at 3:55 p.m. with CHAPTER 25approximately 9 people from the public in attendance. PLANNING DIRECTOR FAMILY DEFINITION INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR Amendment to Chapter 25 (Zoning Code), Article 1, Section 25-1-5(b) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), by amending the definition of “family” to read as follows: “Family” means an individual or two or more persons related by blood, state-sanctioned adoption, foster parentage, guardianship or marriage, or a group of not more than five unrelated persons (excluding servants), occupying a dwelling unit. The term includes individuals in larger group living situations described as group living facilities and family child care homes[.] and a group of not more than eight unrelated persons, plus any program staff, living in a facility licensed by the department of health. (SEE EXHIBIT D) MINUTESAt 5:30 p.m., the Commission took up the following item with 3 people from the public in attendance. July 21, 2006 - It was moved by Commissioner Galdones and seconded by Commissioner Salavea that the minutes be approved as circulated. Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance. ADMINISTRATIVEThe Commission took this item up at 5:31 p.m. with MATTERS3 people from the public in attendance. Status of appeals filed on Planning Commission decisions - Corporation Counsel – Mr. Torigoe had nothing new to report. ANNOUNCEMENTSThe Commission took this item up at 5:32 p.m. Mr. Hayashi announced that the next meeting is scheduled for September 7, 2006 in Hilo and subsequently for September 22, 2006 at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Mauka Salon.
