SPRINGER:Thats certainly the pleasure of the citizen. And as you can see we have
received a number of testimonies in support. Commissioner Siracusa posed a question if there
had been any testimony against the proposal and the answer was that there had been none. So if
there is no one more who cares to come forward we can return to the business of the Planning
Commission and thank you all for attending. Youre welcome. Mr. Lim would you come back
to the table.
LIM:Thank you.
SPRINGER:Youre welcome.
LIM:Weve received the copy of the Directors background report and
recommendations and we have no comments. We understand that there are some amendments to
a proposed condition relating to water. I think that the issues have been well addressed by the
witnessesthathavegonebeforeandsoIhavenothingtoaddunlessyouhavequestionsforme.
SPRINGER:Commissioners?CommissionerSiracusa?
SIRACUSA:Mr.DarrowmentionedthathewantedtoinserttheNumber14Ibelievein
the amendment item Number 7 or obtain additional 14 water credits, I believe is the way I heard
it?
DARROW:We have worked out a rewording of the condition so-
SIRACUSA:Shall we work that into the- into the motion and is that agreeable with you
Mr. Lim?
LIM:Ill do a short discussion before and I forgot, Im sorry. I wanted to
acknowledge that the support of the Kona Traffic and Safety Committee whose headed up now
by Mr. Joel Gimpel hes been here all day. And he decided he had submitted testimony as
Exhibit I to our application. But, moving on to the water issue- we understand that the
Department of Water Supply has informed us that the project site currently has 10 water units I
guess they call it. And that we could get an additional 4 more, maximum off the existing system.
And that the Director has proposing language to require that we pay for those additional 4 if we
use them. And I think thats acceptable to the Hualalai Academy. So, I guess Ill let Mr. Darrow
state the condition thats proposed.
DARROW:Thank you Mr. Lim. The- weve reworded the condition from the
condition that we had passed out previously. The new wording for Condition number 7 would
be as follows, The Applicant shall comply with the Department of Water Supply requirements.
The Applicants shall limit water consumption to 14 water units or water credits allowed by their
water allocation. If the Applicants can obtain additional credits they may increase their
consumption and match their credits. The Applicant shall pay 4 facility charges and all facility
charges for any additional credits. The Applicant shall report annually in writing on their water
usage with a copy being sent to the Department of Water Supply.
EXHIBIT A
16
