Merit Appeals Board <br />Call to Order (Item 1) <br />May 16, 2022 <br />CHR. CABANAS: Good morning. Today is May 16, 2022. The regular meeting of the Merit <br />Appeals Board is called to order at 10:03 a.m. <br />We have quorum. All five Board members are present. I'm Gabriella Cabanas, Chair, of the <br />Merit Appeals Board. Joining me this morning is Mr. Mel Ventura, Vice -Chair, appearing via <br />Zoom from Kailua-Kona. Good morning, Mr. Ventura. <br />MR. VENTURA: Good morning and aloha. <br />CHR. CABANAS: With me in the Council Chambers at the Hawaii County Building, at 25 <br />Aupuni Street, First Floor, Room 1401, in Hilo, Hawaii, are the following Board members: <br />Ms. Kate De Soto, Ms. Gay Mathews, and Mr. Charlie Kunz. And, also, we have from the Office of the County Clerk, Mr. Relley <br />Araceley, who's manning the computer equipment to ensure we have Zoom capability.
