Merit Appeals Board July 18, 2022 CHR. CABANAS: So, meeting with the managers to get input from them or to assess where they're at or MR. LEOPOLDINO: So, both. I think it's this is going to be his first meeting the managers. So, it's going to be their opportunity to have some dialogue—and so, he can get a better idea and so, we can fine tune a program that he feels is going to be most effective. CHR. CABANAS: And his background is in? MR. LEOPOLDINO: He's been a leadership consultant for some pretty big private companies. And he came highly recommended by the mayor's office for us to work with him. I guess the mayor's office has been working with him. So—and he already has that connection to the County as he's already advising and working with our current directors and deputies in the County. So, he has awareness of operations and County and government operations. MS. MATHEWS: And what was his name, again? MR. LEOPOLDINO: John Barnett. CHR. CABANAS: So, what happens after August I O h (inaudible) in your development of the new mission, vision, and value statement? MR. LEOPOLDINO: So, we have a schedule of follow-ups with John. And that's, kind of we're, kind of, mimicking the format that he has with the deputies and directors and departments. He does regular follow-ups to ensure that whatever comes out of this workshop will be maintained and applied. So, we have, kind of, worked that into what he's going to be providing for our managers. CHR CABANAS: And then, you, in turn will develop—with the mangers the new mission, vision, and value statement? MR. LEOPOLDINO: Yes. CHR. CABANAS: Okay. MR. LEOPOLDINO: Any questions? CHR. CABANAS: Any questions on that? Kate, do you have any questions? MS. DE SOTO: No question, but congratulations on finding a consultant that's able to do this with you all. That's exciting. MR. LEOPOLDINO: Yeah, we are very fortunate, actually, to have found John. He's very knowledgeable in the field, so we're very pleased. Page 13
