Hawaii Police Commission <br /> Meeting Agenda <br /> March 17, 2023 <br /> Page 2 <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION (CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC) <br /> The commission will meet in executive session to consider charges against officers or <br /> employees of the police department, where matters affecting privacy will be involved; to <br /> consider sensitive matters related to public safety, and may consult with the board's attorney <br /> on questions and issues pertaining to the commission's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, <br /> and liabilities pursuant to HRS 92-5 (a)(2)(4)(6) and the Hawaii County Charter Section 13-20 <br /> (b). <br /> CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF COMPLAINTS <br /> • Review of complaints in the non-acceptance category <br /> STATUS REPORT OF REFERRED AND EXTERNAL COMPLAINTS <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> • Debriefing on the chief selection process (tabled on 2-17-23) <br /> ACTION ON EXECUTIVE SESSION MATTERS (RETURN TO OPEN SESSION) <br /> • Investigation of complaints <br /> ➢ Complaints in the non-acceptance category <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 21, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the County Building, <br /> Council Chambers, Suite 1401, 25 Aupuni St., Hilo, Hawaii. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Submitting Written Testimony: Written testimony may be submitted via email at <br /> Charisse.Correa@hawaiicounty.gov, by mail, or in person to the Police Commission's office at 101 <br /> Pauahi Street, Suite 9, Hilo, Hawaii 96720. Written testimony must be received by 12:00 noon, two <br /> business days before the meeting to ensure timely delivery to the Commission. <br /> Oral Testimonv: Testimony must be related to an item on the agenda. The Commission will hear <br /> public testimony at the beginning of the meeting or when the respective agenda item is called or as <br /> allowed at the sole discretion of the Chair. Testifiers will be limited to five (5) minutes, please plan <br /> accordingly. <br /> Special Assistance: This meeting place is accessible to persons with disabilities. If you need an <br /> auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, contact the commission's <br /> secretary by phone at (808) 932-2950 or by email at Charisse.Correa@hawaiicounty.gov, at least <br /> three days before the meeting.
