SUPPORT SERVICES Emergency Medical Services Branch Training for Recruit Class The EMS Branch led an ESO patient care documentation class for the 515t fire recruit class. This training included log -in confirmations and documentation instructions. We also held an EMS Branch update and general Q&A session. National Registry Recertification/Renewal A National Registry renewal reminder memo was sent out to the department for mandatory personnel whose certification will be expiring at the end of March 2023. Included in this memo was instructions for the recertification process and reimbursement procedures. CPR Compression Devices We are very grateful and happy to share that the Hilo Medical Center Foundation will be donating three LUCAS CPR compression devices. These three devices are valued at $53,000. They will be assigned to Medics 6, 8, 18. Once the county resolution process is : complete, we will distribute these devices to the designated stations and provide training on usage. Clerk III Recruitment Interviews for the Clerk III position in the EMS Branch were held on January 19t" and 20t". We had a total of 10 applicants who qualified for the interview. Final scores and rankings were submitted to HR for candidate notifications. Pre -delivery Ambulance Inspection Four personnel from our ambulance specification committee will be going to Chehalis, Washington to the Braun N. West Ambulance fabrication facility for our pre -delivery inspection of two new ambulance units. These two new vehicles will be assigned to the North Kohala and Keaau Fire Stations. Our next five new ambulance units are projected to be completed by the end of February 2023. These five new vehicles will be assigned to the Haihai, Kealakekua, Honokaa, Pahoa and Naalehu Fire Stations. KWXX Ho'olaulea The EMS Branch assisted with the coordination of this year's KWXX Downtown Ho'olaulea that was held on Saturday, January 28t". A big mahalo to the Fire Prevention Branch and all HFD personnel who assisted with this event standby. Internship Rotations Five personnel in our Fall 2022 paramedic class will begin their first of four internship rotations on February 27, 2023. We are currently working with the Kapiolani Community College EMS Training Center on scheduling. When this internship schedule is completed it will be distributed along with internship objectives and evaluation criteria. Sapphire Medication Pumps We have received our new Sapphire Medication pumps and are currently in the process of uploading them with our medication library. Once completed these pumps will be distributed to our medic stations along with a proper in-service. 10 2023 1 JANUARY
