SUPPORT SERVICES <br />Emergency Medical Services Branch <br />Training for Recruit Class <br />The EMS Branch led an ESO patient care documentation class for the 515t fire recruit class. This <br />training included log -in confirmations and documentation instructions. We also held an EMS <br />Branch update and general Q&A session. <br />National Registry Recertification/Renewal <br />A National Registry renewal reminder memo was sent out to the department for mandatory <br />personnel whose certification will be expiring at the end of March 2023. Included in this memo <br />was instructions for the recertification process and reimbursement procedures. <br />CPR Compression Devices <br />We are very grateful and happy to share that the Hilo Medical <br />Center Foundation will be donating three LUCAS CPR compression <br />devices. These three devices are valued at $53,000. They will be <br />assigned to Medics 6, 8, 18. Once the county resolution process is <br />: complete, we will distribute these devices to the designated stations <br />and provide training on usage. <br />Clerk III Recruitment <br />Interviews for the Clerk III position in the EMS Branch were held on <br />January 19t" and 20t". We had a total of 10 applicants who qualified <br />for the interview. Final scores and rankings were submitted to HR for <br />candidate notifications. <br />Pre -delivery Ambulance Inspection <br />Four personnel from our ambulance specification committee will be going to Chehalis, <br />Washington to the Braun N. West Ambulance fabrication facility for our pre -delivery inspection <br />of two new ambulance units. These two new vehicles will be assigned to the North Kohala and <br />Keaau Fire Stations. Our next five new ambulance units are projected to be completed by the <br />end of February 2023. These five new vehicles will be assigned to the Haihai, Kealakekua, <br />Honokaa, Pahoa and Naalehu Fire Stations. <br />KWXX Ho'olaulea <br />The EMS Branch assisted with the coordination of this year's KWXX Downtown Ho'olaulea that <br />was held on Saturday, January 28t". A big mahalo to the Fire Prevention Branch and all HFD <br />personnel who assisted with this event standby. <br />Internship Rotations <br />Five personnel in our Fall 2022 paramedic class will begin their first of four internship rotations <br />on February 27, 2023. We are currently working with the Kapiolani Community College EMS <br />Training Center on scheduling. When this internship schedule is completed it will be distributed <br />along with internship objectives and evaluation criteria. <br />Sapphire Medication Pumps <br />We have received our new Sapphire Medication pumps and are currently in the process of <br />uploading them with our medication library. Once completed these pumps will be distributed to <br />our medic stations along with a proper in-service. <br />10 <br />2023 1 JANUARY <br />
