My daughter has been <br /> participating as a gymnast there for almost one year and it has made such a positive impact on her life. <br /> It would be a tragedy for the entire community if this gym was no longer able to operate. Kona Aerials is <br /> the only place on this side of the island that offers gymnastics for our children.Within one month of her <br /> participation in the gymnastic class at Kona Aerials,the benefit this business has on our community was <br /> obvious. Hundreds of families come together several times each week to watch their children grow <br /> stronger and more confident. Relationships among the gymnasts,as well as the parents sitting in the <br /> stands,develop. For the gymnasts,these classes not only allow them to interact with other children <br /> outside of school, but they are taught discipline and team mentality,characteristics that aren't always <br /> strengthened in an academic classroom. Our family also had the opportunity to attend a competition a <br /> few months back.This event brought together programs from all over the state-the stands were full of <br /> Hawaii families-and our Kona gymnasts took many top awards! <br /> In this economic period,good help is hard to find. I am impressed with the Kona Aerials staff and <br /> coaches.The coaches are young, energetic and dependable.They are knowledgeable and skilled. If Kona <br /> Aerials was no longer able to operate,our island would likely lose yet another set of skilled young <br /> workers to other employment opportunities on the mainland or neighbor island. <br /> I urge you to grant Kona Aerials Special Permit No. 21-000227 for not only my daughter's sake but for <br /> the wholeness of our island community, our County of Hawaii and the state of Hawaii in its entirety. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> a <br /> Emily Krug <br />
