Dear Mr. chair and members of the leeward planning commission: <br /> I am writing to you on my own behalf as a member of the Kailua Kona community and a parent to three <br /> gymnasts at the Kona Aerials gymnastics facility, to express my support for a special permit number <br /> 21-000227, submitted by the Kona Aerials gymnastics team Inc. Requesting to permit the operation of <br /> a youth, gymnastics in sports facility on Hualalai Road in Kailua Kona. <br /> Kona Aerials gymnastics is a nonprofit organization that served Westway athletes for decades, and is <br /> the only gymnastics training facility in Kona available for our children. Their program offers youth, the <br /> opportunity to participate in activities that advance, her physical and emotional skills, promoting <br /> leadership confidence, teamwork, and physical coordination. <br /> My daughter has benefited greatly from being a part of Kona Aerials gymnastics coaching. When she <br /> attends class not only does she learn gymnastic skills, but she is also being thought valuable life skills: <br /> like trying new things, not giving up when things are hard, active listening skills and not saying that she <br /> can't. Having a coach and a facility like Kona Aerials gymnastics is a massive benefit to our community. <br /> I ask you to please vote for approval special permit number 21-000227 so that our community can <br /> continue to enjoy the mini benefits of Connor Aerials gymnastics. Not only is this a wonderful program <br /> facility, but it is the only program and facility. Please do not take this away from our children. <br /> Thank you. <br />
