If the Chair is going to put it up for the vote that the Commission wants it, then they <br />will set it up. <br />GIFFIN: Okay, then I move that this body take a site visit to the area that is in question, and the <br />date to be determined by our staff. <br />NELSON: Second the motion. <br />HOUSEL: Motion seconded. Just let you know, since the Commission has voted to handle the <br />contested case, I the Chair will act as the presiding officer. Thank you very much. <br />GONZALEZ: Oh, one second, though, for the housekeeping matter. <br />read in his preamble earlier, you know, the contested case proceeding is a quasi-judicial function, <br />so you may want to consider hiring a legal counsel to assist you. Of course, the parties Î the <br />applicant and the intervenors Î can always agree to waive the more formal aspects of the <br />proceeding, but it should be done in writing.
