<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />July 3, 2003 <br />A regularly advertised public hearing on the applications of CLIFFORD KABUMOTO <br />(SLU 03-002/REZ 03-007) was called to order at 9:20 a.m. in the Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort, <br />Kahalu`u Ballroom, 78-6740 Ali`i Drive, North Kona, Hawai`i, with Chairperson Fred Galdones <br />presiding. <br />PRESENT:Fred Galdones ABSENT & EXCUSED: Francis Smith <br />Earl Fujikawa <br />Bill Graham <br />Florence Kubota <br />Jeffrey McCall <br />Aurelio C. Mina, Jr. <br />Hannah Springer <br />Bill Thibadeau <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Christopher J. Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Staff Planner <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />And approximately 16 people from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: CLIFFORD KABUMOTO (SLU 03-002/REZ 03-007) Î Applications for a State <br />Land Use boundary amendment from the Agricultural to the Rural District and a Change of Zone <br />from the Agricultural 3-acre (A-3a) to the Residential and Agricultural 1-acre (RA-1a) district <br />for approximately 7.315 acres of land. The property is located on the west (makai) side of <br />Mmalahoa Highway, approximately 150 feet northwest of the Mmalahoa Highway Î Kaloko <br />Drive intersection, Kohanaiki, North Kona, Hawai`i, TMK: 7-3-19:21 and 30. <br />GALDONES:Commissioners, New Business, Item No. 2, Applicant is Clifford <br />Kabumoto (SLU 03-002/REZ 03-007). This is an application for a State Land Use boundary <br />amendment from the Agricultural to the Rural District and a Change of Zone from the <br />Agricultural 3-acre (A-3a) to the Residential and Agricultural 1-acre (RA-1a) district for <br />approximately 7.315 acres of land. This is <br />` <br />Hawaii Belt Highway, also referred to Mmalahoa Highway, and State Highway 190. This <br />would be towards Waimea and this would be going towards Kailua-Kona. Kaloko Drive and <br />Kaloko Mauka Subdivision is in this area. This would be the intersection of Kaloko Drive <br />with Highway 190. And if I go to -.
