Monstera, Mimosa, Hawaiian Lily, blue ginger, plumeria, pikake, bird of paradise, <br /> anthurium, philodendron, Hawaiian hibiscus, schefflera and ginger. Landscaped areas of <br /> the property include ornamental trees such as shower, trumpet thorn, acacia and koa, <br /> numerous varieties of palm trees,in addition to fruit trees such as mango,papaya,avocado, <br /> lemon, lime, star fruit and orange. The applicant reports that given the elevation above sea <br /> level, it would be possible to find the Hawaiian Hawk, or I`o, and the Hawaiian Owl, or <br /> Pueo, however the property is not known to be a habitat for such species. <br /> 21. Archaeological/Cultural/Historical Resources: According to the applicant, no formal <br /> archaeological studies have been done on the subject property.There are no known historic <br /> sites on the property as listed on the State or National Register of Historic Places.Although <br /> not currently proposed, the applicant states that in the case of any future land disturbance <br /> activity, should inadvertent discoveries be made, the applicant will cease work and notify <br /> the Planning Department and the Department of Land and Natural Resources — State <br /> Historic Preservation Division (SHPD). The subject site is not adjacent and/or proximate <br /> to the shoreline, therefore gathering of marine life and coastal access for Native Hawaiian <br /> gathering and fishing rights is not an issue. The applicant states they have not observed the <br /> property or adjoining properties being used by Native Hawaiians for the gathering of plants <br /> in recent times. The applicant has also stated that in the event legitimate gathering claims <br /> are made by Native Hawaiians, that they intend to respect and honor such claims and <br /> provide the needed access within the site. <br /> 22. Public Access: There is no known public access to the shoreline or mountain areas that <br /> runs through the property. <br /> 23. Traffic: According to the applicant, given the small scale of the proposal, a three-bedroom <br /> bed and breakfast should not generate significantly adverse traffic impacts on the local <br /> roadway system. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 24. Access: Access to the site is from Nani Kailua Road which is a shared privately-owned <br /> 50-foot-wide road and utility easement with a 20-foot-wide pavement and full shoulder <br /> improvements. Makai of Hienaloli Road, Nani Kailua Road continues as a County owned <br /> and maintained road with a 20-foot-wide pavement within a 50-foot-wide right-of-way. <br /> -4- <br />
