In trying to understand what some <br />constraints are about the site and moving buildings, is there a minimum width of the access road? <br />BLECK:The Fire Department has 16-foot paved area minimum width. <br />YUEN:Is this the farthest the buildings can be moved from the back property line, <br />mauka property line without reducing the number of buildings or their basic design? <br />BLECK:Yes. <br />YUEN:What about the space -, there seems to be -, if you -, I'm <br />the buildings are three o'clock and five o'clock, imagining the diagram we're seeing is a clock. <br />There's -, if you move those buildings closer together, could you move the mauka -, the three <br />mauka buildings closer to Ali`i Drive? <br />BLECK:Well, we tried, but it's just not possible. <br />YUEN:What is the difficulty in doing that? <br />BLECK:It's hard to describe, you know. We had -, if you had a c <br />had these cut out on a piece of paper, as we did, we tried to fit the units and move them and <br />position them so that they would still swing an arc to take advantage of the view potential that <br />we have and afford access, vehicle access, and maintain distances between the buildings. <br />YUEN:You can't say what specifically was the problem with reducing the space <br />between the buildings at three o'clock and five o'clock? <br />BLECK:Not specifically, no. <br />YUEN:There isn't any legal requirement for a setback between these units, right, <br />this is a design issue for you, the 10-foot spacing that you're trying to maintain?
