A question for you and your wife, <br />would you be opposed to a higher residential use for this particular piece of land that <br />would conform to the Medium Density designation that it currently has or do you want <br />to -? <br />L. RHOADES:I would prefer the street that we live on to remain as residential. I <br />mean, I -. <br />SALAVEA:Medium Density or Low Density? <br />L. RHOADES:Id prefer Low Density. <br />SALAVEA:Low Density. <br />L.RHOADES:ImeanIthoughtthatswhatthestreetweboughtonwaszoned <br />Low Density, which I understand it was; but now the General Plan has changed that, but I <br />dont think the neighborhood knows that. And I dont know where the idea that that was <br />supported by the neighbors came from, but I think at least in the area that were on, on <br />that section of Manono and directly behind us from the neighbors Ive talked to, this is <br />very blatantly false that the neighborhood supports that change. In fact, they were <br />completely unaware of the change, the people that Ive talked to. And ones finding out <br />about it are shocked and upset by it. <br />SALAVEA:A follow up to that question, and Im not sure if you know the <br />answer. When you purchased your property was it designated as Low Density to your <br />knowledge? <br />L. RHOADES:We were told it was Residential and we were told the business on <br />the corner, the lawn mower shop, was grandfathered in, which somebody else told me is <br />not true. But two or three other people Ive talked to have told me the same thing, that it <br />was grandfathered in before the requirements for -. <br />SALAVEA:Business? <br />L. RHOADES:I mean, they started operating and operated a long time before <br />anybody questioned it so they were allowed to continue, is the story I heard. Now I dont <br />know if thats true or not, its just what Ive been told. <br />SALAVEA:Thank you. <br />GALDONES:Commissioners, any further questions? Seeing none, thank you <br />very much.
