<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />AUGUST 5, 2005 <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of JAN MALASEK (GEOTHERMAL <br />ASSET FUND CLAIM)was called to order at 4:12 p.m. in the County Building, <br /> <br />Councilroom - Room 201, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii, with Second Vice-Chairman <br />C. Kimo Alameda presiding. <br />PRESENT:C. Kimo AlamedaABSENT & EXCUSED: Hannah Springer <br />Bill GrahamFred Galdones <br />Andrew Iwashita <br />Jeffrey McCall <br />Allen Salavea <br />Rene Siracusa <br />RodneyWatanabe <br />IvanTorigoe,DeputyCorporationCounsel <br />Christopher J. Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />And one person from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />CLAIMANT: JAN MALASEK <br />Geothermal Asset Fund Claim in the amount of $27,494.00 to compensate for a loss of <br />income from a orchard and nursery operation due to geothermal activity in the area. The <br />property is located at 13-683 Leilani Avenue, approximately 1600 feet south of the <br />Leilani Avenue Pohoiki Road intersection, Leilani Estates Subdivision, Keahialaka, <br />Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-3-28:18. <br />ALAMEDA:Moving right along, our final agenda item for today, Agenda Item <br />No. 8, staff? <br />HAYASHI:Thank you, Mr. Chair. The subject property is located, this is, at <br />this red dot. It is part of the Leilani Estates Subdivision in Puna. This would be the <br />Pohoiki Road leading towards Pohoiki, and this would be in the Kapoho direction. This <br />particular road is the Kapoho-Pahoa Road. The Puna Geothermal Venture Power Plant <br />site is located here in this orange-shaded area. It is approximately 4,000 plus square feet <br />excuse me, 4,000 feet from the property that was previously owned by Mr. Malasek. <br />1EXHIBIT C <br /> <br />
