SIRACUSA:And they no longer go to the burial sites to pay respects or to keep those <br />sites maintained in any way? <br />DICKLER:That’ll be a better question to ask Dr. Hahn. <br />FUKE:Yeah, we have the archaeologist here; and I believe that one of your other <br />testifiers, Mr. Tyler, who has some association with this area will be providing testimony in that <br />regard under public testimony. <br />SIRACUSA:Thank you. In the case, I’ll hold the question. <br />FUKE:Sure. <br />ALAMEDA:Thank you, Commissioner Siracusa. Commissioner Watanabe? <br />WATANABE:Yeah. Mr. Fuke, I appreciate the Applicant’s concession for improving <br />and possibly increasing public parking along Alii Drive. But I don’t believe it’s one of the <br />stipulated conditions in this Recommendation; and I’m wondering if you all would have any <br />objection for us to formally put that in? ‘Cause actually that was one of the things I had, I don’t <br />know if you read my mind or not, this is one of the things I had noted down and wondered if we <br />could add that in. <br />FUKE:Sure, like in anticipation of that, ‘cause we had made that representation <br />earlier and I do realize that it was not embodied as part of the staff’s revised Recommendation. <br />But if the Commission and the staff so choose, I do have language. And basically it would read <br />like, “Plans for providing public parking spaces on TMK 7-7-8:Parcel 23 and the County-owned <br />parcel identified by TMK 7-7-8:115 shall be submitted in conjunction with the Plan Approval <br />process and shall be implemented according to the approved plans at no cost to the County, <br />together with the development of the subject proposed project.” <br />WATANABE:That sounds very good. Thank you. <br />ALAMEDA:Thank you, Mr. Watanabe. Any other questions for the Applicant? <br />Commissioner McCall? <br />MCCALL:Yeah. When we talk about evacuation, we’re generally talking, you know, <br />tsunami evacuation. Do you know where the, like the Civil Defense Tsunami Inundation Zone, <br />where that lines up with this property and, also, with Alii Highway? I believe some of Alii <br />Highway is above the inundation zone. Is that correct? <br />FUKE:I don’t know exactly where the inundation zone line is, but I do know the <br />subject property falls within the evacuation area, yeah. <br />MCCALL:Okay. <br />ALAMEDA:Thank you.
