Previously, <br />Kathi worked as a Program Director II for <br />the Elderly Recreation Services Program <br />in West Hawaii. Kathi is looking forward <br />to transitioning into her new role and <br />continuing to support and care for the kupuna. <br />Congratulations to Nadine Dela Cruz <br />on her recent promotion to Account Clerk. <br />Nadine has spent the last seven years <br />assisting the Coordinated Services Program <br />as a Clerk III in Hilo. She is a proud mother <br />of two who enjoys spending quality time <br />with her family on weekends. <br />lkAloha everyone, I am Damien <br />Mercado. I have lived in Hawaii my <br />whole life, and a proud graduate of <br />Pahoa High School class of 2016. <br />I am a father of two beautiful girls. <br />Previously worked at Easter Seals <br />Hawaii as a Caregiver to mentally and <br />physically disabled children and adults. I enjoy meet- <br />ing and getting to know everyone while working here <br />in Hilo. We would like to congratulate Damien on his <br />recent promotion to Community Service Worker III in <br />Hilo! <br />dtChioke Ka`uhane, lives in Orchidland <br />Estates where she raises chickens, goats, and <br />other farm animals with her family. Chioke <br />majored in Cultural Anthropology at the <br />University of Hawaii at Hilo. She looks <br />forward to meeting the kupuna and being a <br />part of Coordinated Services in Hilo. <br />Pamela Fabian, I feel privileged to be <br />joining the Coordinated Services for the <br />Elderly team. Raised in Kahalu`u on Oahu <br />and now Puna is my home since 2008. I <br />am also a Certified Nurses Aid working in <br />private in home care. During my free time <br />I like gardening, fishing, spending time <br />with family and doing DIY projects. With everyone's <br />encouragement, patience and aloha has made me feel <br />so welcomed. Looking forward to meeting and helping <br />the most valuable assets in the community, our Kupuna. <br />We would like to congratulate Jill <br />Sugiyama who was recently promoted to <br />_ the Community Service Program Assistant <br />position in Kona. Jill has over 20 years of <br />experience working at the Kona office and <br />is looking forward in continuing to provide <br />assistance to the kupuna of West Hawaii. <br />Congratulations to Anna Marie Maile" <br />Canario with her recent promotion to the <br />Community Service Program Assistant <br />position in the Puna-Kea`au district. <br />Maile will be providing services and <br />information to the kupuna in the growing <br />community of the Upper Puna district. <br />Tania Leslie joined our CSE Kona team <br />at the end of 2020. She formerly worked at <br />the ARC of Kona for 16 years. She enjoys <br />genealogy, plants, and is a proud Navy <br />mom of 2. Tania was recently promoted to <br />Community Service Worker III in Kona. <br />Congratulations! <br />Alex Kost was born in Chicago, raised <br />on Maui and moved to the Big Island in <br />1995. I like working on or rebuilding <br />cars, traveling, and eating at good <br />restaurants. Not a fan of hot weather, <br />tasteless food or waking up early. <br />Looking forward to working with the <br />seniors in our community by being a part of Coordinated <br />Services for the Elderly. <br />My name is Bowen Muraoka, born and <br />raised in Hilo, graduated from Hilo High <br />School and attended UNLV for four years <br />receiving my bachelor's degree in Science <br />of Hospitality Management. Working for <br />Coordinated Services for the Elderly gives <br />me a sense of fulfillment and reminds me <br />of taking care of my grandmother, which I very much <br />enj oyed. <br />Kupuna News 3 January -July 2023 <br />
