MAYOR'S COMMITTEE ON PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES <br />Monday, July 17, 2023 <br />Vice Chair, Michelle Hiraishi named the following items that were discussed, <br />regarding the Priority Initiative Topics: <br />d/DEAF/HARD-O F-H EARI N G <br />Outreach Social Media Marketing <br />Female Specific Disorders and Disabilities <br />Compliance & Accountability for Businesses & Government <br />Autism <br />Global Transitioning Services <br />Caregiver Issues and Support <br />Secretary, Sandra Schuffler made a motion to accept the Priority Initiative <br />Topics. Committee Member, Christen Zulli seconded the motion. (3 ayes, 0 <br />nays) <br />Vice Chair, Michelle Hiraishi asked the Committee Members and the <br />members of the public, of who would like to be a part of each initiative. <br />Committee Member, Christen Zulli volunteered to be a part of the Female <br />Specific Disorders and Disabilities Initiative. <br />Committee Member, Tiffany Dela Cruz and Public Member, ReBecca Bennett <br />volunteered to be a part of the d/DEAF/HARD-OF-HEARING Initiative. <br />Secretary, Sandra Schuffler volunteered to be a part of the Autism Initiative. <br />Vice Chair, Michelle Hiraishi and EO Officer/ADA Coordinator, Ryan Caday <br />volunteered to be a part of the Compliance & Accountability for Businesses & <br />Government Initiative. <br />8. SOCIAL MEDIA FOR COMMITTEE ON PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES <br />Committee Member, Christen Zulli volunteered to be a part of the Outreach <br />Social Media Marketing Initiative. <br />9. COMMITTEE LOGISTICS <br />The Mayor's Committee on People with Disabilities next meeting dates were <br />discussed. The next scheduled meeting will be on Friday, August 11, 2023 at <br />12:00 PM at the Aging & Disability Resource Center, 1055 Kino'ole Street, <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720. <br />Vice Chair, Michelle Hiraishi discussed the planned agenda items for the next <br />meeting: <br />County Mass Transit Presentation <br />Chair and Vice Chair Elections <br />Hybrid Meetings <br />Concerns from the d/DEAF/HARD-OF-HEARING community <br />Interpretation and Access for the d/DEAF/HARD-OF-HEARING population <br />3 <br />
