<br /> <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON AGING MEETING MINUTES <br />Friday, June 30, 2023, 10:00 A.M. <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Michelle Johnson mentioned she was a secondary caregiver for her parents and <br />how difficult it was to take care of her parents. She suggested to the committee <br />that if they can start targeting families individually, targeting the home family <br />system. What if we as a committee go out there and start promoting good family <br />structure or good neighborly structure so that we can be there for our family <br />caregivers. <br /> <br />Horace asked the committee chair if he’d like to make a suggestion to the <br />committee to look at some of these areas and look at what can we recommend <br />or help encourage, educate family caregivers. We have programs that can help. <br />Caregiving is a very crucial element. The next time we meet we can have our <br />district reports and bring the information and suggestions to the table and work <br />together. One is suggest to do a survey to get feedback. <br /> <br />8. SCHEDULING OF NEXT MEETING: Clyde Silva, Committee Vice Chair to <br />announce next meeting – Friday, August 25, 2023 <br /> <br />9. ADJOURNMENT <br />Clyde Silva, Committee Chair move to adjourn the meeting; Laenette Longakit <br />motioned; seconded by Lisa McNamarra.
