Salary Commission <br />Call to Order (Item 1) <br />June 8, 2023 <br />ACTING CHR. LEOPOLDINO: Good morning. I'd like to call the Salary Commission meeting <br />to order. It is now 10:02 a.m. <br />We're at the Hilo Council Chambers at 25 Aupuni Street, here, in Hilo. I'm Waylen Leopoldino, <br />Director of Human Resources for the Department of Human Resources and an Ex -Officio <br />member of the Salary Commission. <br />At this time, I'd like the Salary Commission members present here, to introduce themselves and <br />which district you're representing—starting from my far left. <br />MR. NELSON: I am Sam Nelson. I'm representing District number 1. <br />MR. RIORDAN: Dennis Riordan, representing District number 6. <br />ACTING CHR. LEOPOLDINO: And to my far right. <br />MS. NAKAMA: Teresa Nakama, Kona, District 8. <br />MR. DUDOIT: Commissioner Jules Dudoit, District 7. <br />MS. FRENZ: Good morning, everyone—Deputy Corporation Counsel Cody Frenz. I am <br />Counsel for the Salary Commission. <br />MR. LEOPOLDINO: I would like to ask our Salary Commission members via ZOOM to <br />introduce themselves at this time. <br />MS. GREENBAUM: Hi, this is Judy Greenbaum, District 6, Waikoloa. <br />MS. KAWA`AUHAU: Donala Kawa`auhau, District 4 <br />MR. LEOPOLDINO: Thank you. For your information, Commissioners Steven Pavao of <br />District 2, Luahiwa Namahoe of District 3, and Dr. Dawood Farahi of District 5 are absent and <br />excused from today's meeting. <br />Also present in the Chambers this morning is Glynis Yamada, Secretary and Reporter for the <br />Salary Commission; Danny Patel, Deputy Director of Human Resources; and Michele Lamkin, <br />HR Program Specialist from our Classification and Pay Division. <br />I'd like to welcome everyone and thank you for your volunteerism and your commitment to the <br />County of Hawaii in serving on the Salary Commission. <br />Page 2 <br />
