According to the Department of Land and Natural Resources - <br /> State Historic Preservation Division, their records indicate that the project area has not <br /> been subject to any archaeological inventory survey and that no historic properties have <br /> been identified within or in the near vicinity of the subject parcel. Therefore, they have <br /> no objections to the requested rezoning application. <br /> 22. Public Access: There is no known public access to the mountain or shoreline that <br /> traverses through the subject property. <br /> 23. Traffic: The property has been fully developed with 2 existing single-family dwellings <br /> and related accessory structures and no additional development is being proposed. <br /> Therefore, there will be no increase in traffic. Further, the County Police Department <br /> does not anticipate any significant impact to traffic and/or public safety concerns. <br /> UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 24. Access: Access to the subject property is off Makalika Street, which is a County-owned <br /> and maintained road with an 18-foot-wide pavement and unimproved shoulders within a <br /> 50-foot-wide right-of-way. According to the applicant, no roadway improvements will be <br /> necessary as the proposed subdivision will be accessible from the County Road. The <br /> Department of Public Works notes that all driveway connections and construction within <br /> Makalika Street shall conform to Chapter 22, County Streets, of the Hawaii County <br /> Code. <br /> 25. Water: The Department of Water Supply (DWS) is currently servicing the 2 existing <br /> single-family dwellings on the subject property with one existing water meter fronting the <br /> parcel. DWS notes that should this rezoning request be approved, the applicant will be <br /> subject to submit construction plans and design calculations prepared by a professional <br /> engineer for review and approval. Thereafter, construct all necessary water system <br /> improvements required by DWS prior to the issuance of Final Subdivision Approval. <br /> 26. Fire Prevention: According to the Fire Department, Fire Department access and water <br /> supply shall comply with Chapter 18 of the 2018 Hawai'i State Fire Code and Chapter 26 <br /> of the Hawai'i County Code. <br /> 27.
