<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 2007 <br />JIEYU SHEPARD <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of <br />(SPP 07-000045) <br />was called to order at 9:42 a.m.in the County of Hawaii, Aupuni <br />Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii with Chairman William R. <br />Graham presiding. <br />PRESENT: William R. Kimo Alameda <br />Takashi Domingo Alvin Rho <br />Andrew Iwashita <br /> Shelly Ogata <br /> Rene’ Siracusa <br />Rodney Watanabe <br />Rell Woodward <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Christopher Yuen, Planning Director <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br /> And approximately 13 people from the public in attendance <br />APPLICANT: JIEYU SHEPARD (SPP 07-000045) <br />Special Permit to allow the use of an existing agricultural warehouse building for storage <br />of tile, cabinets and home furnishing on approximately 1,000 square feet of land in the <br />State Land Use Agricultural district. The property is located in the Onomea Bay Ranch <br />Subdivision, mauka of the Hawaii Belt Road approximately .3 miles north of the 8 mile <br />marker, Mokuohiki, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-7-39: 1. <br />GRAHAM: Our next agenda item is an application for a special permit by Jieyu <br />Shepard. And it’s to allow the use of an existing agricultural warehouse building for <br />storage of tile, cabinets and home furnishing, approximately 1,000 square feet of that <br />building, and it’s located all within the State Land Use Agricultural district. It’s in the <br />Onomea Bay Ranch Subdivision, mauka of the Hawaii Belt Road, just north of the 8 mile <br />marker in Mokuohiki, South Hilo, Hawaii. We’ll start off; and Jeff will give us a little <br />introduction to this particular application for a special permit. <br />DARROW: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. If I can direct your attention to the <br />location map on the board, the area of this application is within the South Hilo District. <br />More specifically, we’re looking at Hawaii Belt Road, Highway 11, running in a north- <br />south direction.
