MAYOR'S COMMITTEE ON PEOPLE WITH DISABILITES <br />Friday, September 15, 2023 <br />4. APPROVAL OF THE August 11, 2023 MEETING MINUTES <br />Motion made by Committee Member, Robert Efford to approve the August 11, <br />2023 meeting minutes. Committee Member, Zahava Zaidoff abstained. <br />Motion passed. (3 ayes, 1 abstain) <br />5. PUBLIC TESTIMONY ON AGENDA ITEMS <br />No Testimony from the Public. <br />6. COMMITTEE BY-LAW REVIEW <br />Motion made by Committee Member, Zahava Zaidoff to table the discussion <br />and the vote of the by-laws until the October 13, 2023 meeting, so the new <br />Committee Members will have a chance to review the by-laws. Committee <br />Member, ReBecca Bennett seconded. Motion passed. <br />7. PRIORITY INITIATIVE TOPICS: REVIEW COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP; SET <br />"INITIATIVE UPDATE" FORMAT FOR FUTURE AGENDAS <br />Vice Chair, Christen Zulli explained the Priority Initiative Topics, which were <br />discussed during the July 17, 2023 meeting, and the Committee Members <br />who had volunteered to be a part each of the following Initiatives: <br />Female Specific Disorders and Disabilities - Vice Chair Christen Zulli <br />d/DEAF/HARD-OF-HEARING - Committee Member Tiffany Dela Cruz and <br />Committee Member ReBecca Bennett <br />Autism - Secretary Sandra Schuffler <br />Compliance & Accountability for Businesses & Government - Chair <br />Michelle Hiraishi and EO Officer/ADA Coordinator Ryan Caday <br />Outreach Social Media Marketing - Vice Chair Christen Zulli <br />Committee Member, Zahava Zaidoff requested the Autism Initiative be listed <br />as Neurodivergent Initiative. <br />Committee Member, Julia Althoff requested Civil Defense Disability Response <br />as an initiative, and volunteered to be a part of this initiative with EO <br />Officer/ADA Coordinator, Ryan Caday. <br />Committee Member, Zahava Zaidoff requested Mental Health & Substance <br />Abuse as an additional initiative, and volunteered to be a part of this initiative. <br />Committee Member, Robert Efford suggested contacting Rosalinda Larkin, <br />who is currently working with the Hawaii Police Department on training Police <br />Officers to assist individuals with disabilities. <br />I• <br />
