<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />OCTOBER 2, 2003 <br />A regularly advertised public hearing on the applications of CLIFTOÓS KONA COAST, <br />LLC (REZ 03-010/SMA 03-005) was called to order at 9:08 a.m. in the the Ohana <br />Keauhou Beach Resort, Kahaluu Ballroom, 78-6740 Alii Drive, Keau <br />Hawai`i, with First Vice-Chairman Earl Fujikawa presiding. <br />PRESENT:Earl FujikawaABSENT & EXCUSED:Fred Galdones <br />Bill Graham Jeffrey McCall <br />Florence Kubota Aurelio C. Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Staff Planner <br />Kiran Emler representing Department of Public Works <br />And approximately 16 people from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: CLIFTO'S KONA COAST, LLC (REZ 03-010/SMA 03-005) <br />Continued hearing on the following applications: <br />a)Change of Zone from General Industrial 3-acre (MG-3a) to Project District for <br />83 acres of land. <br /> <br />b)Special Management Area Use Permit to allow the development of a <br />commercial Î residential complex consisting of offices, retail uses, multi-family <br />housing, facilities for transient accommodations, and related improvements. <br />The property is located along the west (makai) side of Queen Kaahumanu Highway <br />(State Highway 19), approximately 2,100 feet south of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway Î <br />nd <br />NELHA Access Road, Ooma 2, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-3-9:22. <br />FUJIKAWA:First on the agenda, the applicant is CliftoÓs Kona Coast, LLC.
