r HACBED <br />Comrnunrty Voice, Collective Action <br />Statement of Qualifications <br />The Hawaii Alliance for Community -Based Economic Development (HACBED) is a statewide, <br />federally tax-exempt nonprofit intermediary organization that was established in 1992 to "achieve <br />economic, social, and environmental jusizce in Han)ai i throagh comwunil v-based economic development." Over 30 <br />years, HACBED has helped to strengthen the strategic readiness of communities and the capacity of <br />community -based economic development organizations in low income communities. HACBED has <br />expanded economic choices, increased wealth, created hope, and promoted self-sufficiency for <br />individuals, families, and communities on all islands, supporting them to act on their preferred <br />visions for the future. <br />Through its work over the past 30 years of operation, HACBED has developed strong and relevant <br />experience and expertise in the following areas: <br />Community & Organizational Capacity Building — expertise in the areas of organizational <br />assessments (diagnostics), facilitation, strategic thinking and planning, community economic <br />development training and technical assistance, and executive coaching to assist communities and <br />non-profit organizations in building capacity to plan, implement, and sustain community -based <br />economic development ventures. <br />!Network Coordination & Development — expertise in design, facilitation, and coordination of <br />community -based networks that encourage collaboration and collective impact. Such networks <br />include individuals, grassroots organizations, and entities from public, private, and non-profit <br />sectors. <br />Community Based Planning— expertise in the areas of community and organizational <br />Planning process design, facilitation, and community based planning. <br />
