FIRM OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND <br /> eA/ <br /> ArP <br /> El Paso Water Utilities, TX Marina Coast Water District, CA <br /> Advanced Water Purification Facility Urban Water Augmentation Project <br /> Carollo served as the prime consultant to El Paso Water as the utility The Regional Urban Water Augmentation Project uses recycled water <br /> implemented the second DPR facility in Texas and the first"direct to augment local supplies for the cities of Marina and Seaside,Ord <br /> to distribution"facility in the U.S.The AWPF will provide a new, Community,and Monterey County.The project also provides the <br /> drought-proof,and completely renewable source of drinking water by opportunity to increase regional recycled water service,infrastructure <br /> producing up to 12 mgd of blended drinking water at build-out.Our to accommodate future groundwater recharge,and reduction in <br /> efforts included: discharges to Monterey Bay. o <br /> z <br /> ■ Innovative application of advanced treatment processes including Carollo provided project management,design services,permit o <br /> MF/UF,NF/RO,UV AOP,and GAC for peroxide quenching and coordination,easement acquisition assistance,bid assistance, D <br /> additional assurance of purification. construction administration and coordination of multiple D <br /> • Purification of treated wastewater for municipal drinking water stakeholders,several cities,and the U.S.Army Corps of Engineers. <br /> The project involved design of approximately 40,000 feet of 16-and D <br /> use introduced directly into the potable water distribution system z <br /> via conveyance infrastructure. 24-inch transmission main,26,000 feet of 4-inch through 12-inch Z <br /> distribution pipelines,2.0-MG welded steel storage reservoir,and 0 <br /> • Extensive regulatory liaison and permitting support services.. 2,500-gpm booster pump station.Carollo also performed extensive D <br /> These services built upon five years of project development,pilot utility and traffic impacts analysis. o <br /> testing,and preliminary regulatory approvals led by professionals z <br /> now at Carollo. The project was designed to approximately 90 percent before <br /> Additionally,Carollo provided grant funding assistance,technical being placed on hold forvarious reasons,including the decrease in o <br /> evaluations and preliminary engineering,and regulatory liaison and development due to the downturn in the economy.The project was w <br /> permitting support services pertaining to all aspects of a successful restarted in 2015,and is now part of the Pure Water Monterey Project z <br /> conveyance system.Carollo updated and finalized the 40,000 feet of D <br /> potable reuse program.Carollo is also performing detailed design, m <br /> m <br /> construction-phase,and post-construction services for the Advanced 16-and 24-inch transmission main,which began construction in early <br /> Water Purification Facility(AWPF). 2017.Final design of the 4-inch through 12-inch distribution main was o <br /> completed in 2017 with construction in 2018. < <br /> N <br /> The facility will treat up to 10 mgd of secondary effluent from w <br /> N <br /> the Roberto R.Bustamante Wastewater Treatment Plant and I <br /> produce purified water using the treatment train of microfiltration/ A <br /> ultrafiltration,nanofiltration/reverse osmosis,UV/peroxide AOP,and 0 <br /> GAC for peroxide quenching and additional assurance of purification. K <br /> The purified water will be introduced directly into the potable water Z <br /> distribution system via conveyance infrastructure also used for -0 <br /> finished water produced by the adjacent Jonathan W.Rogers Water z <br /> Treatment Plant.
